Our mission

Compassionate Action Inc. is a no-kill 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based out of Petco in Selden, NY. We are

dedicated to rescuing our community’s unwanted,

abused and abandoned cats and kittens.

After testing, vaccination, and other necessary medical care is given, our cats and kittens are kept in foster homes, where they receive the care and love they need before finding their new permanent home. All prospective homes are carefully screened to meet our high standards, ensuring a happy ending for all.

 

You can help!

Compassionate Action Inc. is always looking for volunteers as there is so much to do when it comes to securing a happy and healthy life for our felines. This includes feeding outdoor feral colonies and fostering our rescued cats in your home. We also need weekly help with caring for our adoptable cats in Petco. The opportunities to volunteer with us are endless - from fundraising, public relations and special events to holding adoption events at Petco, we welcome all spirited volunteers.

 

There are also other ways in which you or someone you know can help out. Like all nonprofits, we depend on donations - anything from food, beds, cages and toys to pet supplies store gift certificates and cash. Monetary donations are especially needed as they help cover the medical needs of our cats (testing, vaccinating, neutering, medications). We are committed to rescuing and restoring the livelihood of Long Island’s cat community.
